Carmela Osborne, M.D.
Carmela Osborne, M.D., a board certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician at Methodist Spine & Joint, offers a multi-disciplinary approach to help people recover from neck, shoulder and back pain, joint pain and arhtritis, cumulative trauma injuries such as carpal tunnel, sprains and strains, sports-related injuries, complex regional pain syndrome, fibromyalgia and the after-effects of joint-replacement surgery or fractures and other trauma. She also performs electrodiagnostic studies for evaluation of radiculopathy, neuropathy and nerve injuries
In 2011, Dr. Osborne became one of seven doctors in Mississippi to be named a Certified Independent Medical Examiner (CIME) by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners. CIME accreditation means a physician has met standards of education, experience and ethical conduct; agreed to abide by professional conduct guidelines; proved competency by passing a rigorous, written exam and is committed to continuing education in the field of independent medical and disability examinations.
Dr. osborne is a graduate of the University of Kentucky College of Medicine. She completed her PM&R residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. She also was a General Medical Officer for the United States Army and is the recipient of the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Medal Osborne also worked at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Ohio, where she specialized in musculoskeletal and electro-diagnostic medicine.
